Grandpa TJ: If you don’t want to be locked out, have more than just one way to open the door! While I prefer to carry an extra key, you may have other people who may need to get to a key in an emergency (like your kids) so having a fake rock or other “garden” key hideout near the front door is the best solution. Don’t make it obvious though, seeing a lone rock in a flower bed is a dead give-away no matter how realistic the rock looks – just like a key under the doormat.
